About Tom Alder
Welcome to FsiShare a kitchen-first space built on flavor, simplicity, and the joy of sharing good food.

My name is Tom Alder, and I’m the home cook, dad, and lifelong food lover behind this site. FsiShare isn’t just my recipe collection. it’s a growing library of real meals, real stories, and helpful kitchen wisdom that anyone can use, whether you’re just learning to boil pasta or cooking your fifth Sunday roast.
FsiShare started with one idea: that great food doesn’t have to be complicated, expensive, or intimidating. It just needs to be honest, flavorful, and shared.
The Journey So Far
I never trained as a chef. In fact, for most of my life, I was an electrician. I spent years working with cables, ladders, and tired packed lunches. But when I got home, the first thing I’d do was head to the kitchen.
Cooking was how I relaxed. How I showed love. How I brought the family together after a long day.
Over time, I started writing down my recipes. Then I started improving them. Then I started sharing them. Eventually, I traded in my tools for tongs and made food my full-time focus.
That’s how FsiShare was born, not from a polished kitchen studio or a TV set, but from a worn wooden counter, a hand-me-down apron, and a deep belief that home cooking matters.
What You’ll Find on FsiShare
FsiShare is all about real-world cooking for real people. No flashy trends, no ten-piece knife sets required. Just the kind of food you want to eat warm, filling, and full of flavor.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Comfort food classics like stews, pies, and hearty oven meals
- Global dishes made simple and accessible from Moroccan tagines to Thai noodles
- Weeknight dinners that save time and money without sacrificing flavor
- Cooking tips that actually help, not confuse
- Occasional stories, flops, and laughs because not every meal goes to plan
Each recipe is tested in my home kitchen the same place I feed my family, host friends, and try to stop the kids from using the spatula as a sword.
What “Fsi” Means
People ask me all the time what does Fsi stand for?
It’s simple.
- F for Flavor: Because taste comes first, always.
- S for Simplicity: Because good food shouldn’t feel like rocket science.
- I for Inspiration: Because sometimes, all you need is one good recipe to spark something new.
And of course, “Share” is the heart of it all. Cooking is never just about the ingredients. It’s about who you’re making it for, who you enjoy it with, and how food brings people together across tables, cultures, and generations.
The Real Kitchen
I don’t work in a studio. My kitchen has a dodgy drawer, a fridge with a family calendar taped to it, and a window that fogs up every time I boil pasta. My kids help with the stirring, sneak ingredients when they think I’m not looking, and give the most brutally honest reviews a recipe can get.
This site reflects that reality. The food here is meant to be made, not just admired.
Whether you’re cooking for yourself, your family, your flatmates, or your future dinner guests, FsiShare is here to help you feel confident in the kitchen and maybe even love it a little more.
Looking Ahead
As FsiShare grows, I want it to become more than just my voice. I hope to welcome other contributors, spotlight home cooks from around the world, and build a platform where stories and recipes live side by side.
We’ll be expanding into:
- Seasonal meal guides
- Beginner series for new cooks
- Printable pantry staples and prep checklists
- Community challenges where everyone can share their twist on a recipe
This is just the beginning and I’m so glad you’re here for it.
